Ground blind

We have officially gone crazy for whitetail deer. We are sitting in our double bull blind where we have encountered some big bucks along with several does. The weather again is warm but were sitting on a green field tucked away under some over hanging trees. We hope to get Todd his first shot at a whitetail in the primos double bull dark horse. Will be sitting anxiously waiting to see if it works.

Seven years

I just want to tell my wife I love you and thank you for letting me go chase those whitetails in Illinois on our 7th anniversary. Your the best wife and my best friend.

Warm temps

Todd was up to bat today for his first chance in Illinois this season. Started out with temps in the low 40's but we saw no deer movement to begin our hunt. Were in the tree and blogging away because the temps jumped to 75 degrees. Might slow movement to a haul but were here and hunting hard.

Doe down

First morning was absolutely gorgeous with weather in the upper 30's. We saw more deer this morning then we saw the entire season last year. We had a monster buck that would of scored over 150 inches just down about 75 yards pushing between 12 and 15 does infront of our stand. Thought we were going to get a crack at him but he was a little wiser then most. Shot the doe around 11 am and she was a fully mature doe that will make good steaks for the freezer. Heading to a different farm and hoping to continue our good luck.

Can't wait to shoot something

Todd just can't wait to pull the trigger. He has a prime hunting spot a few hours away but just needs to shoot something asap. Shoot straight my friend

Quick stop

We never can get bye this store with out passing it. It's like there is a magnet attached to the car pulling us towards the door every time we are on I-80.

Driving to Illinois

We our on our way to the land of the giants. Illinois bound. The rain and wind is not making it fun for travel but were excited to climb in a tree and see what we can lay down on camera. Thanks to our wives for letting us go and enjoy a little time it the woods.

First of the season

Todd shot a nice Michigan buck on Friday night. What great timing as we plan for our first Illinois trip this weekend.
